LobstahLab launched its inaugural play development retreat on Mount Desert Island (MDI) in Maine in 2019.

The hope is to give playwrights focused time and a team of collaborators to really dig into their scripts, while also indulging in, and being inspired by the beauty and wonder of Acadia National Park.

Seth Rozin
Producing Artistic Director
Seth co-founded InterAct in Philadelphia in 1988. Under his leadership, InterAct has championed the development and production of new and contemporary plays that grapple with pressing, complex and sometimes controversial issues of our time.
Chaz T. Martin
Literary & Development Manager
Chaz is a writer and dramaturg, and the literary and development manager at InterAct Theatre Company. Formally trained as an actor, Chaz emerged from NYU as a screenwriter, and has since parlayed that skill into playwriting and myriad other forms of script-creation.

Artist will participate in 20 hours of table work and rehearsal with a director, dramaturg and actors.

InterAct coordinates group outings to explore Acadia’s spectacular sites by way of swimming, hiking, and taking in local cuisine.

Artists stay in houses on what is called the “Quiet Side” of MDI. InterAct assembles teams and coordinates everyone’s transportation to and from Maine.
